The Inyerface Management Team

Inyerface Arts is led by an Advisory Management of 3 people plus our Musical Director, Hilary. The Board is there to advise us on our strategy and oversee our activities and finances. Each of our activities is led by a Project Manager who has lead responsibility for making sure that the creative work happens on time and within budget.

We also have specific roles that cover the whole organization. These are currently held by the following people, we thought you might like to get to know the people behind the names. They are all volunteers and are the people who make Inyerface happen!

Hilary Osborn - Musical Director & Founder of Inyerface

Born: Emsworth Hants in 19?? - moved to Sheffield in 1981

Real ‘Day’ Job!: Singing teacher

Outside Inyerface: Married to the principled, radical, literary Steve since 1977. We have two lovely and talented daughters, two hungry sons in law and two beautiful granddaughters. I am partial to a glass of Burgundy, or something from the Languedoc. I am an unapologetic Muso bore.

What do you get out of IYF?: Giving young people a chance that they might not get elsewhere. Seeing them develop and perform and getting a buzz from life and the friendships they form. Being able to work with my family and a wonderful team of like minded volunteers.

Charlotte Proctor - Artistic Director

Born: Jessop's Hospital, Sheffield 1984

Real ‘Day’ Job: Music and Drama Teacher

Outside Inyerface: Married to the wonderfully talented photographer, Barry and Mummy to Jessica, as well as my three marvellous moggies. When I can I like to sing and make noise as well as spending time with my amazing family and friends!

What do you get out of IYF?: Giving young people the opportunity to perform and build their self esteem and confidence through the arts, as well as working with a wonderful committee and group of young people.

Outside Inyerface: Real ale connoisseur, pizza eating specialist, Sheffield Wednesday fan (with benefits), I am currently refusing to believe that my body is not able to do the things it used to do!

What do you get out of Inyerface?: It has given me great pleasure over the years to see people develop into themselves and to have been able to give people the opportunity to perform on some of Sheffield's premier stages. The team spirit and work ethic displayed by the various casts and crews has made it a joy to be involved with Inyerface. Yes even when I've had ‘techy arguments’ with Hilary!! (H says lol)

Born: Middlesbrough 1980 - Escaped the smog to Sheffield in 1999

Real ‘Day’ Job!: Web Development Manager / Professional Geek

Outside Inyerface: Husband to Kate Franklin and father to Amaia Franklin. This takes up most of my time these days, though I do enjoy the occasional tipple in some of Sheffield's finest social gathering spaces. I like to take the odd photo as well (mostly of my beautiful family).

What do you get out of IYF?: The geek in me gets to play with geekery, theatre lights, projectors, radio mikes and the like. The rest of me gets to see the children of Sheffield excel in front of their friends and family. I continue to be amazed at what they can do.

What do you get out of IYF?: IYF doesn’t discriminate against any young person no matter what their background or ability. Everyone who wants to gets the opportunity to be part of an incredible community both on and off stage. It’s a refreshing approach to theatre for young people and I’m very proud to be part of such an amazing team.
