OPPORTUNITY FOR ALL
Based in Hillsborough, Sheffield our purpose is to provide opportunities for young people and adults to perform live on stage and to develop their skills, confidence through a love of music and drama. We were originally formed as Inyerface Theatre Company in 2002 to provide opportunities for young people whatever their background or circumstances to act or sing live on stage. Inyerface Arts is run by an enthusiastic group of local professional musicians, teachers and volunteers who encourage our young people to both put on a good show and above all to have fun. We continue to operate an open, no audition policy and promise to give everyone who wants to a chance to perform and have developed a great reputation in the city for our friendliness, professionalism and high standards. |
WHAT WE ARE ABOUT
Inyerface Arts gives young people aged 11 – 18 the opportunity to participate in and learn the skills of the performing arts, singing, dancing, music making, acting and theatre craft. We are especially determined to give all young people whatever their background the opportunity to experience the excitement of live performance and to develop a love of theatre and the performing arts. We create a friendly and welcoming environment and aim to encourage both the creativity of individuals and to offer a safe environment for members who wish to perform as a soloist and to experiment with music, dance and drama and aspects of performance. Our standards are high we strive for excellence in performance and demand a disciplined professional approach to learning, rehearsals and performance. However we never forget that music and drama are all about having fun!
We are extremely proud of our open no audition policy and encourage membership from all members of the community regardless of gender, racial origin, religion, sexual orientation and/or any physical disability. We encourage individuality and the development of confidence and self esteem and consequently IYF Arts is not associated with or affiliated to any political, religious, social or similar group and will not, as an organisation, directly or indirectly promote any such activity.

SHEFFIELD MUSIC HUB
Inyerface Music are delighted to have signed up as a partner of the Sheffield Music Education
Hub. The Hub is a new organisation which acts as a adviser on music education
in the city and a co-ordinator of
learning opportunities. It is also a commissioning organisation for government
funding from for example the Arts Council & the Department of Culture &
Sport. The Hub will also be greatly involved in encouraging and creating
partnerships within the local music and theatre communiities. The All Saints
Singing workshop was our first collaboration with the Hub. We look forward to
more projects and to working with them and
their other new partners and networks.
